, Professor of Politics and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, University of Bristol. Professor Tormey works on political theory, European politics, social critique and continental thought. Recent books are The End of Representative Politics (Polity, 2015), The Refiguring of Democracy (Routledge, 2017), and Populism (Oneworld, 2019). His current research concerns the nature of the crisis of democratic societies, the rise of populist and outsider movements and parties, and the impact of ICT and new social media on participation and mobilisation.
, Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Sociology at the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón (Spain). He works on democracy theory and communication ethics and has published the following books: y (Rowman and Littlefield, 2019), (co-authored with Simon Tormey, Andreu Casero and John Keane, Routledge, 2017), and the (2019).
Chaired by Ruth Kinna, (POLIS). Professor Kinna is a political theorist and historian of ideas with research interests in anarchism, nineteenth and early twentieth-century socialist thought, utopianism and contemporary radicalism. Her book was published in 2000 by University of Wales press; she has since published (Oneworld, 2005/2009), (University of Edinburgh, 2016) and (Pelican, 2019).
Cristina Flesher Fominaya, is Excellence 100 Reader in Social Politics and Media (POLIS). She publishes widely on European and global social movements, hybrid parties, digital politics and media, collective identity, democracy, autonomy, and political participation, recent books include (2nd Edition) (Red Globe 2020 (2018), and (2018).
