Dynamic Working is operated through informal arrangements between managers and their teams. This allows flexibility to adjust arrangements to suit both individual and business needs on a regular basis. It differs from flexible working, which is a fixed pattern of work on a regular basis that does not align to normal office hours, which has been requested by an employee and formally approved by a line manager and HR.  

Typically, staff who choose dynamic working will spend the majority of their time working on campus but can also spend time working from home, e.g., a full-time employee may work 3 days on campus and 2 days at home. They may also, on occasion, vary the times of day they work to suit their own and/or business needs, although the total hours worked should be in accordance with their contracted hours.
