̨ÍåÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ to host international psychology conference

̨ÍåÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s Centre for Research in Communication and Culture will host the 10th biennial International Society of Critical Health Psychology (ISCHP) conference from 9 – 12 July 2017.

The conference brings together health scholars who are interested in exploring ongoing and emerging issues in critical research, critical theory and critical practice in relation to health and health care. The conference themes are:

  • Ageing
  • Diversity and Inclusivity
  • Innovations in Critical Theory and Method
  • Mental Health

̨ÍåÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ will welcome researchers and psychologists from 23 countries, including the United States, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland and Taiwan.

The event has been organised by , Professor of Communication and Social Interaction at ̨ÍåÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s , alongside colleagues Dr Laura Thompson and Kathrina Connabeer, and Dr Gemma Witcomb and Dr Carolyn Plateau of the .

Professor Peel commented: “I am delighted that the is welcoming speakers and delegates from around the world to the 10th biennial International Society of Critical Health Psychology conference.

“The academic programme is very stimulating, with a range of presentations addressing the themes of ageing, mental health, diversity and inclusivity, and innovations in critical theory and method.
